Trump announced that he will nominate former Fox News host Pete Hegseth to head the Department of Defense.
“Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down,” the president-elect said in a statement.
Trump praised Hegseth’s military record as an Army combat veteran who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay.
Hegseth, 44, was a co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekends” and author of the book “The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free,” which rails against what he calls the “warped, woke, and caustic policies of our current military.”

We come before You today to lift up Secretary Pete Hegseth and his family. We ask for Your divine protection over him, granting him safety as he carries out his duties in the Department of Defense. Surround him with Your angels and keep him and his loved ones safe from harm.
Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment in every decision he makes regarding the defense of our nation. Grant him clarity of thought and the ability to lead with integrity and courage. May he be guided by Your truth as he navigates the challenges before him.
We also ask for Your blessings upon those who work with him, that they may feel Your presence and support in their efforts to serve and protect our country.
Watch over them all, Lord, and may Your peace and strength be with them always.

Holy Spirit you said you would give the right words at the right time. Father God I feel in my heart this is the right man to do the right job. I know nothing compared to your intelligence Lord. But I don’t think you would’ve put this feeling in my heart to pray for Pete a second time. I have a gut feeling that this wasn’t picked by Donald Trump. I believe that it was you who picked Pete and used Donald as a tool to hand pick Pete Hegseth. I know you work through people to get the right people to the right job. We are a Christian Nation and we need strong Christians to pray before they work as I do. I always see Ron Desanto in the background but I feel that he may be a future President. But I believe that Pete is our man. He’s got the heart of a lion. Lord all I can say is that I would stand shoulder to shoulder with Pete. I leave this in your hands. Amen.
Father God, I pray for Pete and his determination to become Defense Secretary. He is truly a man of God and for the people. Lord please grant him whatever he needs to become the top person for this job. He has given up money for a relationship for defending the people of the USA. Lord place your Hands on his shoulders and let those who are voting him in see that. Always safe traveling mercies for him and his family, a hedge of protection and let him make clear decisions. Amen.
