Bernie Moreno is a successful entrepreneur, technology innovator, and public servant who currently serves as the junior United States Senator from Ohio. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Bernie immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of five and became a U.S. citizen at 18—an experience that instilled in him a deep appreciation for the American Dream and the values of freedom, opportunity, and hard work.

Bernie began his professional career in the automotive industry, and in 2005, he purchased a struggling car dealership in Cleveland, Ohio. Through a relentless focus on customer service, ethical leadership, and innovation, he built that single store into one of the largest and most respected luxury dealership groups in the country, employing over 1,000 Ohioans and earning dozens of industry awards for excellence.

Innovation & Blockchain Advocacy

In 2016, long before blockchain became a mainstream concept, Bernie recognized its transformative potential and shifted much of his focus toward advancing blockchain and emerging technologies. He became a prominent advocate for making Ohio a leader in this space, launching several ventures dedicated to secure digital identity, decentralized applications, and Web3 infrastructure. He also played a key role in shaping public understanding of blockchain’s applications beyond cryptocurrency, especially in data privacy and public sector modernization.

Personal Life

Bernie and his wife, Bridget, live in Westlake, Ohio, and are proud parents of four adult children. A devoted family man, Bernie has been actively involved in numerous civic and charitable initiatives throughout the Cleveland area, including education reform, entrepreneurship development, and Latino community engagement.
