The House of Representatives has a total of 20 committees, in addition to 2 select committees and 4 joint committees shared with the Senate. These committees and their respective subcommittees are tasked with conducting hearings, examining and developing legislation, conducting oversight, and/or helping to manage chamber business and activities.
In the 118th Congress, I serve on the following committees:
House Committee on Ways and Means – The Committee on Ways and Means is the oldest committee of the United States Congress, and is the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives. The Committee derives a large share of its jurisdiction from Article I, Section VII of the U.S. Constitution which declares, “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.”

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence – The Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is charged with the oversight of the United States Intelligence Community, which includes the intelligence and intelligence-related activities of 17 elements of the U.S. Government and the Military Intelligence Program.

Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic – The Select Subcommittee will be conducting a thorough after-action report on the COVID-19 pandemic, including investigating economic impacts, vaccines and treatments, roles of our agencies, effects of lockdowns, use of taxpayer funds, supply chain vulnerabilities, and the effectiveness of our various public health responses.
