Kelly Lynn Loeffler is an American businesswoman and public servant currently serving as the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), appointed by President Donald J. Trump on December 5, 2024. In this role, she leads efforts to support America’s small businesses through access to capital, entrepreneurial development, and disaster recovery assistance, helping to drive job creation and economic growth across the nation.
Loeffler previously served as a United States Senator from Georgia from 2020 to 2021. Appointed to fill a vacancy, she was one of the few women to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate and focused on pro-growth policies, economic opportunity, and support for small businesses and rural communities during her tenure.
Before entering public service, Loeffler built a successful career in the private sector. She was an executive at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, and co-owned the Atlanta Dream, a WNBA franchise. Known for her business acumen and leadership, Loeffler has been a strong advocate for free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and empowering women in business.
A native of Illinois and a longtime Georgia resident, she holds degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and an MBA from DePaul University.
