House Homeland Security Committee

The House Homeland Security Committee has jurisdiction over the Department of Homeland Security and its components, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and more.

Congressman Carter serves as the Ranking Member of the Emergency Management and Technology Subcommittee.

House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, one of the largest committees in Congress, has jurisdiction over all modes of transportation: aviation, maritime and waterborne transportation, highways, bridges, mass transit, and railroads.

Congressman Carter serves on theEconomic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Subcommittee andRailroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous MaterialsSubcommittee.

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee also has jurisdiction over other aspects of our national infrastructure, such as clean water and wastewater management, flood damage reduction, the management of federally owned real estate and public buildings, the development of economically depressed rural and urban areas, disaster preparedness and response and hazardous materials transportation.
